Revolution

A national address. You sit in your living rooms, turn on your TVs. Times have been down. Prices up, resources stretched, relations with other countries frayed...
Your leader tries to lighten the mood of the country. And as they speak, you can tell their words are empty. The crowd they have gathered does not react to them. Those in their houses do not react to their televisions.
There are those who believe in this leader's speech. Who think we will overcome without difficulty, go on the way life had before these troubles started.
Then there are those who desire change. Who wish to change the system, retire the old and start anew.

On the screen there's a flood of people on the stage. The leader's bodyguards are forced back, the leader himself stolen away in the chaos. There is another in his place, a strong person. Their expression intangible, hard, written with the suffering so many in their homes know. A common person, no different than any other who stole the broadcast.

And then they speak.

"Come along and follow us as we lead you through this darkness! As we provide just enough of a spark that you need to prevail against these troubles!
Carry on, give us your hope, give us your strength - come with us and we won't steer you wrong! Put your faith and your trust as we guide you through this fog. To the light at the end of the tunnel! We gonna fight, we gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march until we conquer all those responsible!

Let us be the voice in your strength and your choice! Let us amplify the message of sixteen million people! That this system isn't working, and this place needs the change! Anyone involved in this call is equal and fit! Maybe we can reach the ears of those stubborn in our government!

No more blood for those stubborn fools, we got our own battles to fight! No more psychological warfare, to trick us to thinking that we ain't loyal! That if we don't serve our own country, we're patronizing a hero - HA.
Look in that leader's eyes - its all lies, you know it!
Our original standards, our foundations, have been washed away and destroyed and they had replaced them with their own face - To die for them in their games!
If those still blinded should argue, let us beg to differ! Let us change their perspectives, lets us bring on the changes! As we set aside our differences, and assemble our own army!
To disarm this Weapon of Mass Destruction that we call our leaders!"

The stage is taken by chaos again as police try and get a handle on the crowd. The sounds loud and a mesh of shouts until the screen goes black and the broadcast abruptly ended.

But the message had been delivered. The Rebels have started their uprising.

So pick a side. You a Rebel or a Loyalist?

Usual rules: No GMing, no PPing. Charries get jiggy with it fast forward, thank you very much.

Rebel or Loyalist? Extremist or Liberal?

(Rebels and Loyalists is going to be the group names unless someone else wants to come up with something more creative. Charries must be in one group or the other - as far as mind set - but they do not have to take part in the war - the whole extremist vs liberal thing. and please, equal balance of men to women.)
